Blockscout is one of the leading block explorer providers in web3 that both manages their own block explorers while also providing open source APIs for creating an explorer for virtually every leading blockchain.
Today, Blockscout is providing block explorer services for over 500+ leading blockchains.
The Challenge
Blockscout had a critical issue wherein their Ethereum block explorer seemingly was not able to get indexed and ranked on Google.
Additionally
Blockscout wanted to build out protocols and a checklist that they could apply to the rest of their block explorer sites that also needed optimizations. As such we were tasked with helping build out a winning optimization blueprint.

Step 1
Isolating and repairing the critical fixes.
Before any progress could be made, it was critical that we first understood why the crawlability of their Ethereum block explorer wasn’t working and building out a plan to fix it.
Step 2
Resolving client-side vs. server-side rendering issues.
The critical issue that was preventing the crawlability and indexation was a CSR vs. SSR issue. Because this couldn’t be immediately resolved, we had to find workarounds that would still enable us to reach our goals.
Step 3
Providing content and formatting enhancements.
Once we had resolved the crawlability items, now it was time to find new ways to enhance all the pages with new content to target an array of new keywords.
